The finance team of this renowned brand is growing which means they are now searching for a Senior Purchase Ledger Assistant support the Accounts Payable Supervisor.

 

Overview:

Responsibilities:

 

  • Raising daily payments, including correct documentation and ensuring approval has been obtained
  • Reconciling large supplier accounts, matching invoices with approved purchase orders to the ledger
  • Covering weekly BACS runs and Month End close procedures in the absence of the Purchase Ledger Supervisor
  • Posting invoices onto the ledger, ensuring that coding and VAT splits are correct
  • Owning unallocated payments and manually allocating on the ledger
  • Chasing purchase order approvals on a daily basis
  • Analysing credit card purchases and posting to the ledger
  • Setting up new supplier accounts in accordance with company procedure
  • Monitoring the purchase email account to effectively handle incoming queries
  • Assisting the wider purchase ledger team with ad-hoc requests and duties
  • Supporting with checking, coding, and posting the staff expense claims and assist with the maintenance of the float balance sheets

 

Experience:

 

  • Proven experience gained within a purchase ledger with hands-on experience of processing high volumes of invoices
  • Proficient user of MS Office packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics, and experience of working with various accounting systems
  • Strong attention to detail, able to work with accuracy and spot anomalies in data
  • Solutions-focused, able to use your initiative to resolve issues
  • Enjoys working in a process-driven environment and has a history of meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, confident dealing with customers and suppliers over the phone and on email and can deliver information in a clear and concise manner

 

Working hours and Benefits package:

 

  • Working Hours:
    • Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm
  • Salary guide: £26,500
