Our Client requires a Senior Assistant Accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple entities. Confident analysing complex financial data, maintaining accuracy and managing competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A proactive team player and natural mentor, ready to take on increased responsibility and support the wider finance team.

Senior Assistant Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and delivery of management accounts across multiple business entities.
  • Complete month-end accounting activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and key account reconciliations.
  • Prepare management information and provide analysis on business performance, costs and variances.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and wider financial planning activities.
  • Complete regular bank, VAT, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Support stock and inventory accounting, including reporting, reconciliations and periodic stock reviews.
  • Assist with year-end reporting, audit requirements and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Contribute to finance process improvements and support the wider finance team with ad hoc projects.

 

Senior Assistant Accountant Skills and Experience:

 

  • Part-qualified or finalist CIMA/ACCA, or equivalent.
  • At least two years’ experience supporting management accounts, ideally within a busy, multi-entity environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and work confidently with financial data.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach with the confidence to take on increasing responsibility.
