As Customer Relationship Manager, you'll play a vital commercial role, connecting customers and public sector clients to deliver successful solutions that satisfy the needs of both parties.

 

In this fast-paced, complex environment, you'll manage incoming opportunities at pace, build trusted, long-term relationships, and balance competing priorities while remaining focused on delivering the right outcomes.

Customer Relationship Manager Responsibilities:

 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities and customers across the UK, acting as a trusted partner and primary point of contact while developing an in-depth understanding of their priorities, requirements, and objectives
  • Respond to service enquiries with professionalism and commercial awareness, assessing requirements, identifying opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions that meet each parties needs
  • Proactively engage with placement teams to flag capacity, identify suitable opportunities, and coordinator solutions that deliver positive outcomes for all
  • Secure agreements in line with contractual frameworks, funding guidelines, and organisational procedures
  • Influence decision-making at all levels, confidently managing challenges, objections, and competing priorities with a consultative, solutions-focused approach
  • Identify opportunities for cross-regional collaboration and account development, working closely with internal team to maxmise growth and commercial performance
  • Oversee your accounts, ensuring all activity progresses from initial enquiry through to successful delivery, acting as a point of contact throughout
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring all information is accurate and compliant

 

Customer Relationship Manager Skills and Experience:

 

  • Proven experience in a customer relationship management, sales, or account management role. Previous experience within recruitment would lend itself well as you'll be balancing competing priorities and managing multiple stakeholder demands
  • Demonstrates the confidence and capability to successfully manage multiple client accounts, building strong relationships while delivering a tailored, high-quality service to each account
  • Possesses the ability to thrive in a highly regulated environment, with current DBS clearance or willingness to undergo the appropriate checks. Safeguarding knowledge would also be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to present ideas clearly, build credibility, and professionally handle any questions or objections
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work proactively, and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong administrative and data management capabilities, with meticulous eye for detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies

 

Please note, this role includes participation in an out-of-hours rota to provide responsive support for urgent operational requirements outside of core business hours when required.
