An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in driving growth within the defence and security sector across the UK and Europe.

 

This is a high-profile, strategic position within a company trusted by governments and defence organisations to deliver secure solutions. The role is ideal for someone with an established network across the MOD, NATO, and US DoD, who excels at creating opportunities, building strong relationships, and securing new business.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

 

  • Shape and deliver the business development strategy for the defence sector across the UK, Europe, and US
  • Forge trusted partnerships with procurement teams, defence organisations, and security agencies
  • Spot opportunities before others do, presenting tailored solutions that meet client needs
  • Craft winning proposals that secure bids, tenders, and long-term contracts
  • Be the face of the business at industry events, building credibility and strengthening relationships with new and existing customers
  • Stay ahead of the market through research and competitor insight, turning emerging trends into opportunities
  • Collaborate with technical experts to translate client interest into cutting-edge, innovative solutions

 

Business Development Manager Skills and Experience:

 

  • Proven defence sector expertise, ideally with experience in business development or sales; ex-military background is a plus
  • Strong network connections across the UK MOD, NATO, US DoD, or defence supply chains
  • Track record of success in winning new business within the defence and security sector
  • Well-versed in compliance and procurement frameworks within the defence sector
  • Security clearance ready, either already held or willing to undergo
  • Exceptional communicator and influencer, with a consultative approach that builds trust and drives results
  • Full driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK and Europe
