This not-for-profit is making a key hire within their pricing and underwriting team as they looking for a detail-orientated Pricing and Underwriting Analyst to support the development and implementation of pricing models.

Pricing Analyst Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify insights and trends that impact pricing models and the underwriting processes
  • Support the implementation of the pricing and underwriting framework to support new business and renewals quotes
  • Develop and implement a new pricing engine that meet the requirements of the business
  • Gather data on pricing, claims, and underwriting to produce reports that inform the business of risk, future product development, and its commercial position
  • Collaborate with the commercial to review pricing of new and existing products and identify new markets
  • Work with the finance team to monitor the operating and expense ratio targets
  • Suggest improvements and put forward ideas for future reporting metrics
  • Identify opportunities to expand reporting across the business and data capture to support with the pricing and underwriting strategy
  • Champion a risk aware culture across the business

 

Pricing Analyst Skills and Experience:

 

  • Previous experience gained in a similar Analyst role and possesses a good understanding of pricing and underwriting principles
  • Knowledge and experience gained within the insurance or financial services sectors
  • A degree in mathematics, statistics or actuarial science would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into easy-to-understand frameworks
  • Analytically and commercially minded with the ability to problem solve and find solutions
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office, particularly experienced in using Microsoft Excel and Power BI
